Why did you want to get involved with Venture for Canada?

I have been fortunate to be mentored by, and otherwise helped by, many people throughout my career.  Venture for Canada provides me an opportunity to pay forward these many contributions I have been fortunate to receive over many years.  Importantly, this volunteer work focuses on the innovation economy, a sector critical to our country’s future success. As a patriotic Canadian, supporting Venture for Canada makes great sense!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

I was once told that we overestimate what we can accomplish in one year and underestimate what we can do in five. This has been hugely motivating for me. It doesn’t suggest that we slow down and do less, but rather look further out on the horizon to the outcomes that can motivate the hard work required to get there today.
